Life Lately in Photos — Chicago Edition

Do you ever feel like you’re too busy for your own good? That’s how life’s been lately. This week, I traveled to Chicago for a copywriting workshop with my work friend, Sarah. When we weren’t learning about writing headlines and crafting the perfect prose, we used our spare time to explore Chicago a bit. Here’s what we did:

Meet Sarah — A fellow fashion-loving writer!

We enjoyed some DELICIOUS Chicago-style pizza at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.

We may or may not have gotten two rounds of macarons at Pierrot Gourmet.

On the left? Mint chocolate. On the right is strawberry. Both delicious, but my favorite was mint chocolate!

On Tuesday evening, we took the ear-popping elevator ride up to Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center.

There, we enjoyed the amazing view, as well as tasty drinks.

A very kind Australian couple (Mary and Donald!) invited us to sit with them so we could have a good view right at the window! We learned about Mary’s sheep farm where she harvests fine wool, as well as her shopping expeditions in Chicago. We were smitten!

We drove back from Chicago on Wednesday evening, and I’m exhausted! But I’ve got a lot to do and people to see — so for the next few days, I’ll be a busy bee!

Tulle and Trinkets Toolin’ Around

The last week of the month is always really busy for me. So while I’m getting everything taken care of at work and home, I’m going to leave you all with some other places around the web where I’ve been featured lately!

This week I guest posted at Profession Gal, a must-read for the 20-something professional girl.

Profession Gal blog

The Profession Gal writes on everything from office etiquette, to yummy recipes, to life in general as a gal in her 20s. My guest post is on office outfits that will keep you warm, professional, and stylish during winter! Here’s a little peek of one of the looks I created; click on the image to see the rest!

Also this week, our wedding was featured on the Vivat Veritas blog . Vivat Veritas is an online fashion boutique run by Chie Duncan, a Japanese seamstress who designs and creates beautiful and sweet frocks. My bridesmaids’ dresses were made by Chie, and they were darling! My feature on her site focuses on all the handmade and Etsy items in our wedding. Check it out here. I also encourage you to check out her Etsy shop where she sells her handmade clothing. I think my favorite item in her shop right now is this mod mini dress:

I hope your week’s going well!
