I’ve written before about how Christopher and I like to go antiquing together — especially at our favorite spot, the Carmel Antique Mall. For a while, we were on the hunt for a set of vintage glasses in a carrier. These are fairly easy to find, but aren’t cheap, usually costing from $30 to $50, depending on condition and if the set of cups is a actual set (or just six cups that look good together).
At Carmel, we found a set of cups that we really liked. Every time we went, Christopher would go back and forth about whether we should buy them or not, but practicality always trumped the splurge. For Christmas, I went to the antique shop and got the set of glasses without Christopher knowing! Here they are:
I know what you’re thinking: Those are pretty girly looking cups. But for whatever reason, he really likes them! He thinks they’re really “cool.”
They sit on the bottom shelf of our bar cart with all the other glasses. They add a retro vintage feel to the cart because all of our other glassware is new. I think they’d be great for serving margaritas or sangria at a summer cookout.
Unfortunately, our set of glasses isn’t a true set. They’re just six floral cups that look good together. Three of the glasses are unmarked. Two are Federal Glass Company. And one is Libbey Glass. Here’s each cup:
The hibiscus cup is Christopher’s favorite.
And the dandelion cup is my favorite!
