I don’t think it’s any secret that I like tulle, so I was very excited when Ribbons.com sent me three colors of Paper Mart tulle and a slew of alligator clips, and gave me a mission to create something cute!

I may have gone a little overboard and made three cute somethings! The three hair clips pictured above were my labor of love on Saturday afternoon. They’re simple, fun, and look really cute holding back bangs or even clipped on your collar.
Here’s how I made them:
1. Tulle Flower Hair Clip

To make the flower hair clip, I simply folded the tulle accordion style until I had my desired number of layers. I cut a circle out of the folded tulle layers and kept all of the circles together by using two of the clips. I then sewed a light grey button in the center of the circle to look like the center of a flower. Lastly, I hot glued the flower onto an alligator clip. Let it dry, and voila!
2. Tulle Pom Pom Hair Clip

The pom pom ended up being my favorite! I made this by wrapping tulle around a large fork. Put a ribbon through the center tines and tie it around the middle tightly, sliding the tulle off the fork. Slide the alligator clip under the ribbon. Then, cut the folded edges, fluff out the sides, and you have a pom! You can also make this by folding the tulle accordion style, tying a ribbon in the center, and fluffing out the tulle.
3. Tulle Bow Hair Clip

This one is so easy to make! Simply wrap the tulle around a normal-sized fork. Cut a thin piece of tulle and tie it around the center of the tulle-wrapped fork. Slide the tulle off the fork and tighten the tulle tie and double knot it. Slide the alligator clip under the knot, trim the edges of the thin tulle strip, and there you have it!

These little guys are versatile, too! They don’t have to be clips. You could make them into pins, headbands, party decor, scrapbooking or card making embellishments, and more.
