Life Lately in Photos — Chicago Edition

Do you ever feel like you’re too busy for your own good? That’s how life’s been lately. This week, I traveled to Chicago for a copywriting workshop with my work friend, Sarah. When we weren’t learning about writing headlines and crafting the perfect prose, we used our spare time to explore Chicago a bit. Here’s what we did:

We enjoyed some DELICIOUS Chicago-style pizza at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.

We may or may not have gotten two rounds of macarons at Pierrot Gourmet.

On the left? Mint chocolate. On the right is strawberry. Both delicious, but my favorite was mint chocolate!

On Tuesday evening, we took the ear-popping elevator ride up to Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center.

There, we enjoyed the amazing view, as well as tasty drinks.

A very kind Australian couple (Mary and Donald!) invited us to sit with them so we could have a good view right at the window! We learned about Mary’s sheep farm where she harvests fine wool, as well as her shopping expeditions in Chicago. We were smitten!

We drove back from Chicago on Wednesday evening, and I’m exhausted! But I’ve got a lot to do and people to see — so for the next few days, I’ll be a busy bee!

It’s Black & White to Me

It doesn’t  get much simpler than a white shirt with a black skirt. In fact, it’s so simple that you could end up looking like an Olive Garden waitress or a flight attendant if you’re not careful about the look. That’s why having an interesting hemline or a trendy detail is important. On this day, I wore my Old Navy maxi with my BCBG white button down and a bold blue clutch.

My coworker, Sarah, and I are having a fab time in Chicago! On our first evening in town, we went out for some delicious Chicago-style pizza. Yesterday we attended the writing workshop, and afterward we treated ourselves to a little sightseeing. We had delicious macarons, went shopping, and enjoyed a drink at the top of the John Hancock Center. Pics from the trip coming soon!
