I already featured our bar cart on here, but it was before we had our nice camera and there have been a couple updates and additions since then!

In case you didn’t see the post the first time, Chris and I searched high and low for a vintage cart for a long time. They weren’t particularly hard to find, but they were all so expensive. We finally found this metal, wood, and glass cart at Midland for the right price.

Since we moved to our new apartment, the cart sits in our dining room, and it’s perfect for entertaining. Admittedly, we don’t usually have too much liquor on hand, but when we have people over, it’s fun to stock the cart with whatever beverage our company likes and to use our nice glassware for entertaining them. Our hope is to one day have a special nook in our house to keep the cart (particularly on a hard floor…it’s precarious rolling this Lenox and Riedel-filled cart around on carpet!).

Anyone else have a bar cart or a special place for storing glassware?

Vintage Mr. Bartender Accessories — Trinket Tuesday

I enjoyed a totally relaxing three-day weekend (more on that later), and I’m excited to get this week started with a very cool Trinket Tuesday.

I got Chris some vintage 1950s bar accessories for Valentine’s Day. I ordered them from Etsy as a set, and they look so snazzy on our vintage bar cart.

The first accessory came in some really awesome and original retro packaging.

Mr. Bartender vintage pourer

I am so impressed by the attention to detail and quality of this 1950s packaging. Mr. Bartender had some awesome branding back in the day!

This first accessory is nifty pourer that perfectly measures one ounce of liquid before pouring. It works like a charm every time and adds some chrome class to our bar cart.

The set also came with these vintage olive picks. We’ll probably never actually use these, but they add some bright retro color to our cart.

Mr. Bartender Bar Guide

And the main part of the set was this bar guide. This guide has cocktails numbered one through 80. You spin the wheel to the drink you want, and it scrolls to your drink of choice and shows you a recipe. It’s in great condition and the spinner still works really well. There are lots of retro recipes that we’ve never heard of.

Antique Bar Cart — Thirsty Thursday

Christopher and I love antiquing together, and one of our proudest finds is our antique bar cart. We hunted high and low for months for the cart and finally found it at Midland Arts & Antiques Market.

Our Bar Cart Inspiration:

gold bar cart

This is a bar cart I pinned on Pinterest. I love the gold metal on this cart. I like how they dressed it up with crystal decanters, fancy cups, fresh flowers, and a silver pitcher.

Antiquing Hunt

We had a pretty difficult time finding our cart. There are a lot of overpriced bar carts out there right now because they’re pretty trendy (thanks to Mad Men and Pinterest). We searched at a lot of local antique stores, and after our third or fourth trip to Midland, we finally found our cart tucked away in a back room. The price fit our budget and we loved the style, so we snatched it up!

Our Vintage Bar Cart

Our cart! It has two glass shelves and gold metal and wood details. It’s on wheels, and someday when we get a house, I hope to have some hardwood floor to keep the cart on!

antique pitcher and antique decanter

On the top shelf are two pitchers that we received as wedding gifts, as well as a crystal decanter that Christpoher got at the Carmel Antique Mall a while back.

We also keep some alcohol bottles, a martini shaker, and some trinkets on the top shelf. That cat bottle on the right is actually wine! I got it last year when Christopher and I were in Columbus, OH for the Jonsi concert.

We keep our wine, martini, and rocks glasses on the bottom. It’s a good thing we have the cart because they wouldn’t all fit in our cabinets! I love the cobalt blue rocks glasses there on the right.
