It’s about time I share some house updates on here! We’ve slowly been working on adding decorations and making our house our own. If you want to see before pictures, you can check out the initial home tour here.
Ever since we moved in, I really wanted a bench for our entryway, so Chris took it upon himself to get the right tools and learn woodworking! This entryway bench was his first project, and it turned out SO well. (Proud wife right here!) We hung a mirror above the bench that was a hand-me-down, and I got the decorative key and coat hooks at Hobby Lobby.
I’m in love with blue and white porcelain patterns, so that’s kind of the “theme” of our living room. I found the rug at Home Goods, got the orange tree print from GabbyMalpas on Etsy, and we already had everything else. A new couch is on my wishlist, and I think something like this would look really nice in our space.
Can I just say that I love our kitchen? The previous owners were kind enough to give us the kitchen cart that is under our cabinets, which we use for our coffee maker and to hold our fruits and veggies. I shared the details of our kitchen gallery wall here, and I got the lemon tree tea towel from the Bastille Day festival this past summer. By the way, if you look at the original home tour photos, you’ll notice that the house plant in the photo above has grown at least two feet since we moved in. Crazy.
This is probably the most “dramatic” transformation. The last time you saw this room, it was painted orange and blue. I painted the walls a warm shade of white called “Sheer Scarf.” I added a gallery wall filled with pieces I’ve collected from antique stores and thrift shops over the years, as well as the DIY Botanical & Animal prints I made a while back.
There are lots more updates on my list, but as I keep reminding myself, baby steps. We have plenty of time to get the house just-right, so there’s no need to hurry! Up next on my list are some painting projects, but I’m saving that for cold winter days when there’s nothing better to do!
