Today is a happy day because Chris and I are celebrating our two-year wedding anniversary. I thought about sharing some of our wedding photos, but I already did that last year for our one-year, and you can see more wedding photos here. It was the best day!
Instead, I’ll share how we celebrated our anniversary on Saturday. I had a cold, but felt up for the celebration with a little help from Sudafed (miracle pills). We stayed downtown at The Canterbury Hotel, which is a historic hotel that is decorated really beautifully. It has lots of ornate, Art Deco decor. It’s like stepping into a time machine; I expected to see Daisy Buchanan lounging on one of the chaises!
After checking in, Chris and I stepped out to enjoy the sunshine. It was a gorgeous day — so warm and sunny. We walked around the area, took photos, and acted like tourists at Monument Circle. The weather was perfect for a sundress paired with my new faux leather trim leggings, which were generously sent to me by Legwear Loft. (Isn’t there something to be said about a pair of high quality leggings?)
What I wore: Banana Republic Dress, Leggings C/O Legwear Loft, Nine west Sandals, Sunglass Warehouse Sunglasses, Handbag Heaven Bag
We enjoyed a nice dinner out and rendezvoused back at The Canterbury (because rendezvousing is what you do when you stay at a fancy pants hotel) for a relaxing night. We had champagne and enjoyed watching cable TV from bed. It sounds kind of lame, but we don’t have cable at home, nor do we have a TV in our bedroom — much to Chris’ dismay (how Carrie and Big of us). Maybe it was because I wasn’t feeling 100%, but we were asleep by 10, and I had the best night of sleep ever. Our room was so dark and cool, no cats to wake me up, and the king-sized bed seemed huge compared to our queen.
The next morning was a rainy one, so I layered my new leggings up with a loose sweater, my Free People shrug, and OASAP hat. We rounded out the celebration with Panera bagels and hazelnut coffee.
Happy two years, Chris! I’m looking forward to three — and many more.
PS – Last year at this time, we were living it up in Gatlinburg. I’ll be reminiscing with my trip diary today!
