Every once in a while, Chris and I get an artichoke from the grocery, and it’s one of my favorite treats. If you’ve never enjoyed a boiled artichoke with melted butter, stop reading this right now and go get one!

They look kind of intimidating, but to prepare an artichoke all you have to do is boil it for about 20 minutes. We simply melt butter and dip the leaves in the butter and eat the fleshy edible part at the base of each leaf. When you get to the end of the leaves, you can cut away the choke (the hairlike part) to get to the best part: the heart! I am convinced that there is nothing more delicious than fresh artichoke heart dipped in butter.

We usually eat an artichoke as an appetizer to a meal or as part of a tapas-like meal with bruschetta, cheeses, and other delicious sides.
The artichokes have been looking really good lately, so why not treat yourself to one?!
I’m a huge fan of artichokes, but somehow I always forget about them … will be picking one up next time I’m at the store for sure.

Yay! Enjoy!
Love artichokes, but it’s always such a work pealing of the hard leaves..
It’s hard work, but so worth it when dipped in butter
I know, or putting them into your pasta.. Hmmm….

Hahah, I’m not much of a cook either…but these all you need to do is boil!
I love them dipped in a sort of vinagrette made with lemon, salt and oil. You should try! A sour touch works perfectly with them!
Oh that sounds lovely! Will try next time – thank you!!
I have never tried artichoke! Do they taste kinda like brussel sprouts or broccoli?
Not really! They have their own flavor. You should try!
Just catching up on a few posts, and HOLY MOLY I’m convinced we are food soulmates! I could not agree more that there’s nothing better in life than a fresh artichoke heart dipped in butter after eating every delectable leaf. I’ve been telling people about them forever, but no one gets it!!
