Sperry Boat Shoes, Navy Stripes, Beachy Shells — A Day at the Lake

love being near the water. It does’t matter if it’s a lake or an ocean, I could sit and sunbathe waterside all day — and be happy as a clam (as long as I have at least SPF 85)!

The other week I wrote about how I love nautical fashion — and how you can get the look. I told you that I have lots of nautical-inspired clothes in my closet, so I wanted to show you one of my sea-inspired looks! Christopher and I went to the lake this past weekend, and I wore my nautical best:

Planetshoes.com sent me these Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes, and they are SO perfect for a day at the lake! I chose the Tasslefish style because in the past, I had problems with Sperry shoes  untying. The tassles on the pair I chose are CUTE — and they can’t come untied. I’d say that’s a win for nautical fashion.

I also wore a navy and white striped top that I’ve had for a couple years. I love its scoop-necked bow collar and ties at the bottom.

I carried my bucket handbag that has a white rope drawstring, and I wore a couple bangle bracelets. The gold bangle with the shell is something I pieced together. The shell charm is a vintage pendant that I added to a plain gold bangle bracelet.

We had such a fun day at the lake! The weather was perfect: sunny and near 80 degrees. We packed a lunch, hiked around, and Christopher did a little fly fishing. We rounded out the day with some ice cream. It was a taste of summer during March!

  1. Oh, I absolutely love nautical fashion! That top is so cute and I will definitely have to try the boat shoes with tassels because, although they are my favorite shoes, they do come untied.
