Feliz Miércoles! In high school, my Spanish teacher helped our class remember that Miércoles is Wednesday by reminding us that it’s a miracle to make it to the middle of the week. Get it? Miracle….Miércoles…? Oi — she was right!
On Sunday Christopher and I headed over to the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds for a flea market. We had a lot of fun wandering through the market looking at all the [sometimes very interesting] things people are trying to sell. You find it all [but never what you're looking for] at flea markets — everything from valuable antiques to…..well…just stuff. I bought some cute cookie cutters from a little old lady who was SO nice when I made my purchase. I think I might have been her only sale all day. When I told her I wanted the cookie cutters she goes, “Well bless your heart!!!!”
I wore an outfit on Sunday that hits on one of my favorite current trends: pairing pink and red! Maybe it’s just me getting into the Valentines spirit early, but I think there’s nothing sweeter than pink and red worn together.
I wore a very soft pink dress with red tights, a grey cardigan over my top, and some suedette black boots. I also wore my favorite pink creme blush, which is so rosy and romantic — you can find it here. (PS – If I look cold in this photo, I WAS! I didn’t want to wear my coat into the flea market, so I made the trek across the fairgrounds coatless. BRRRR!)
[coat: Kenneth Cole Reaction] [cardigan: Gap] [dress: H&M] [tights: Target] [boots: Gap Outlet] [bag: Francesca's Collections] [necklace: Forever21]
I’m not the only one wearing red and pink. Here’s the lovely Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere color blocking pink, red, and black.
And always fashionable, Sarah Jessica Parker makes a really bold red and pink statement!
Are you loving the red + pink trend? Or is it a look you’d only wear on Valentine’s Day?
