This weekend was very relaxed. Probably the most relaxing weekend I’ve had since before wedding planning even started! I got our tiny Christmas tree up. I’m not joking when I say it’s tiny, but it will suit us just fine this year for our first Christmas as a married couple. Christopher strung Christmas lights around the perimiter of our living room, so it’s pretty festive at our place!

On Saturday night, we went on a double date with my bestie, Karin, and her boyfriend, Ryan. Karin and I were roommates right up until the wedding, and I don’t get to see her enough these days! When we’re together it’s always lots of giggling and inside jokes.

We had dinner in downtown Carmel, which is so quaint and pretty this time of year with Christmas lights and decorations everywhere. We always have so much fun with Karin and Ryan — and we can’t wait until couples’ vacation next year

For our double date, I wore a fancy blouse that I got from Modcloth’s Cabin Fever sale last year. It’s one of my favorite tops with a soft silk body and sheer silk sleeves. It has a black lace zigzag detail across the front.

Oh and I should add that Hermes is enjoying our Christmas decorations more than anyone. Between batting at ornaments, trying to lay under our tree’s very low clearance, and curling up in our wreath, he is totally in the Christmas spirit.
