If you can’t tell, my style is pretty feminine. And as much as I’d love to live in a space that looks like this, Christopher already rolls his eyes at everything girly that decorates our space. But one decoration we can agree on is stones! Chris is a geologist and likes to collect unique rocks, and I…well…like shiny things! I like to set polished stones around on our furniture and dressers. Here are some of my favorites:

This one is citrine. I hope to someday have it made into a piece of jewelry like this necklace from The Vamoose.
This piece of azurite sits on our dresser. The photo doesn’t do it justice — it’s a deep, sparkly blue!

I love this piece of quartz, which I currently use to hold a couple of my rings — I totally got this idea from Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Again, the photo doesn’t do this muscovite justice. This stone is gold and very iridescent.
Chris recently told me about gem and jewelry shows where you can purchase fancy stones for cheap. You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be at the next one in the area!

Muscovite is a mineral, not a stone.
I know, Chris told me. But for simplicity’s sake, it’s a stone today!
I LOVE stones! I have a friend that can get them at a very low cost! Let me know if you are looking for something special.
It must run int he family then!
I will let you know if we’re ever in the market for something!
These stones are just beautiful! Where can I get stuff like this on a student budget? I also love necklaces with stones like this that are trending so much lately.
(Also, what girl wouldn’t want to live in that gorgeous bedroom?! #waaaaant)

My husband collected all of these during his years studying geology. But I know that you can find deals on rocks like this at gem and mineral shows! Artisans who make jewelry go to those events to stock up on their supplies. I know I’m going to try to make it to some next year
