Hot Buttered Rum — Thirsty Thursday

On cold and rainy November nights I love to curl up on the couch with my husband and a mug of hot buttered rum.

Hot Buttered Rum Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 small slice of butter
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1 dash vanilla extract
  • 1 to 1.5 ounces dark rum
  • boiling water
  • Optional 1 chamomile tea bag

How to Make Hot Buttered Rum

  1. Bring water to boil in a tea kettle.
  2. In the bottom of a mug, muddle together the brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add rum.
  4. Add boiling water.
  5. Stir.
I like to steep a chamomile tea bag in the drink for a couple minutes to make it a hot buttered rum toddy!
