Remember when I mentioned in my Anderson Orchard post my love of horses? I had a horse named Smokey and showed hunter jumper for several years. Look at Smokey and me go!

When I went to college, I had to give the sport up. It was too expensive and there weren’t any local stables to board Smokey. It’s something I hope to get back into someday, but for now I enjoy my love of horses via fashion…

Hunter jumper is what I rode! When I showed, I wore jodphurs, a button-down shirt, a tailored jacket, tall riding boots, gloves, and a velvet helmet.

[blouse] [belt] [cowgirl boots] [black jeans] [scarf] [top-handle satchel]
During a western pleasure class, the horses move at a snail’s pace! There’s a bit of fanfare with western classes. Riders wear flashy, fringed outfits, chaps, and the horses wear ornate saddles.

[gloves] [tights] [bracelet] [cape] [plaid bag] [silk scarf] [riding boots]
Dressage is a beautiful form of riding in which the horse and rider perform a set routine — it’s like dancing on horseback! Dressage riders often wear a long coattail jacket, white breeches, tall boots, gloves, and sometimes a top hat!
I often incorporate equestrian fashion into my wardrobe. Do you?!
Wow! I didn’t know all that about riding! Awesome
I like the photo of you and Smokie – and it’s totally obvious that you get your classic style from riding. Love it!
